Date : 9thApril 2020
The mission of the Journal of Reproductive Biotechnology and Fertility (JRBF) is to provide freely available research and literature in reproductive biotechnology, fertility and health with the aim of making such research findings more accessible to both developed and less-developed areas of the world. The open access model intends to provide access to publications to all irrespective of an individual’s means or circumstance, and the advent of open access has helped authors disseminate and publicize their work widely. Research efforts in reproductive biotechnology, fertility and health are incredibly important areas of concern to the well-being of humankind.
JRBF was formerly published by Androcryogenics Malaysia (under the name Journal of Reproductive and Stem Cell Biotechnology (JRSCB), and aimed to offer scientific information free of cost to all. With the intention of benefiting scientists from less endowed nations, the cost of publishing was borne entirely by sponsors, enabling the journal to publish research without any charges to the author. Scientific development is affected in some less endowed countries because access to scientific information has become phenomenally expensive and not within the reach of many scientists in developing nations. With this modus operandi we hoped that scientific workers of all nations, developing as well as advanced, can avail of the information freely.
The journal was launched in 2010, and rapidly achieved acceptance within the Assisted Reproduction Technology (ART) community. However, due to a dearth in funding, Androcryogenics were unable to continue publishing and therefore decided to handover the journal to SAGE Publications, UK. The journal was transferred to Sage Publishers in 2014. Another important change that came into being following the handover was amendment of the title of the journal – now called the Journal of Reproductive Biotechnology and Fertility (JRBF). Previously the journal catered mainly to laboratory professionals in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) and related areas of laboratory reproductive sciences. With the inclusion of the word “Fertility” the journal has opened up its portals to the entire field of REPRODUCTION including clinical, scientific, nursing, social and legal aspects of ART, mammalian reproductive biology and reproductive sciences, and fertility, which encompasses demographic and population dynamics related to human fertility and health.
In keeping with this change the journal invite well established and eminent individuals to the honorific positions of Associate Editors from every corner of the globe to represent the various sub-specialities within the specialty of “Fertility”. Please email nominations and self-nominations with a one-page resume and a list of publications to the Editor-in-Chief at email address: firstname.lastname@example.org.
In 2017 the journal was acquired by JRBF Online Publications. The Editorial Team is determined to see the journal become a leading organ for the dissemination and exchange of scientific communication in ART, reproductive biology, ART, fertility, health and related areas. With an outstanding Editorial Board, we are determined to make the journal among the best in the field. We pledge short turnaround times to ensure rapid publication of your research findings and manuscripts. We welcome and look forward to your continued patronage and support.
I, on behalf of the Editorial Board, extend an invitation to the entire fraternity soliciting their contributions to the JRBF.
