The Editor of the Journal of Reproductive Biotechnology and Biomedical Sciences  (JRBBS) welcome manuscripts in all areas of biomedical sciences and human reproduction including clinical, scientific, nursing, social and legal aspects of health and human fertility. JRBBS is an open access online journal www.ivf-hub.net)

All articles published in the JRBBS are open access which are disseminated and freely accessible as per the regulations of the Creative Commons Attribution pertaining to the (CC BY) license (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). Submitted manuscripts will be considered for publication under the condition they are not being submitted to another journal at the same time and have not been published or accepted by another Journal. Full papers can be accepted for republication if permission was obtained from the original publisher prior to submission of the article to this journal.

Preparation of Manuscripts

Manuscripts must adhere to American spelling. The manuscript is prepared as per the ICMJE guidelines with a modification pertaining to the reference citation format only. For detailed guidelines please refer to: (http://www.icmje.org/index.html#manuscript). A brief instruction for the authors is given below. Individual components of the manuscript should begin on a new page, in the following sequence:

1. Title page
2. Abstract
3. Text (Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion)
4. Acknowledgements
5. References
6. Tables
7. Illustrations

Submitted manuscript should be accompanied by an electronic covering letter from the author that will be responsible for correspondence regarding the manuscript. This letter must carry the following declaration or statements:

(i) That the study has been approved by competent authorities such as the Institutional Review Board (IRB)

(ii) That studies involving human subjects was performed following written patient informed consent and in compliance to the World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki.

(iii) That animal studies were approved by competent authorities and that the animal experiments were performed humanely with minimal pain and distress to the animals.

(iv) On conflict of interests (financial and any other commercial interests or gifts received; including sources of financial and material support, and commercial affiliations must be declared).

(v) Another statement indicating the manuscript has been seen and approved by all the authors need also be included.

(vi) The individual author’s contributions and the proportion of the contribution in relation to the overall content of manuscript may also be mentioned at the discretion of the authors.

(vii) Finally a statement indicating permission has been sought from individual(s) if their name(s) was mentioned in the Acknowledgement section or anywhere in the text of the manuscript must be included.

vii. Authors are responsible for all submissions and must retain copies of everything submitted. The publisher shall not be held responsible for human or computer errors resulting in loss of manuscripts during transmission, accidental erasure or was irrecoverable or irretrievable due to computer failure.

viii. Authors are required to provide in their cover letter the names, email addresses and contact details of at least five reviewers.

Language requirement: The manuscript must be prepared in English using American spelling. Authors that are not natives of English must arrange to have their manuscripts edited / copy-edited by the Australian Editorial Services (web: www.nativeenglisheditor.com) or a native English speaker prior to submission.  The JRBBS has contracted and obtained a 20% discount from the Australian Editorial Services (web: www.nativeenglisheditor.com ) for authors of countries from middle and lower income economies. Manuscripts should be typed double spaced with 3.17cm left/right and 2.54cm top/bottom margins.

Title page

The title page must be prepared in the following sequence:

1. The title of the article must be short but sufficiently informative.
2. Names of authors (in full and their email addresses).
3. Name and address of department(s) and/or institution(s) at which the work was carried out.
4. Name, address and email address of author to whom correspondence should be addressed.
5. Sources of support
6. Other declarations or statements (eg: whether the paper was previously presented in part or full at a scientific meeting if so name of organizers/meeting and dates)

Abstract

The second page should carry an abstract of not more than 300 words. The abstract should state the purposes of the study, basic procedures, core findings and conclusions. Emphasize new and important aspects of the study or observations. Reference to other publications should be avoided.

Text

The text may be divided into sections with the headings:

Introduction,

Materials and Methods (or Subjects and Methods), 

Results,

Discussion,

Conclusion and,

Acknowledgment

Subheadings are allowed for long papers.

Introduction:

Briefly review the literature indicating the chronological events that lead to the current the state of the art. In this section the purpose of the study should be clearly stated. This shall be followed by the rationale of the study which should be summarized with pertinent references. Do not review extensively.

Materials and Methods:

Describe the rationale for the selection of study subjects (human or experimental animals). The methods employed must be described in detail giving references for documented methods. Laboratory or clinical consumables, paraphernalia, chemicals, reagents, culture media, etc. used in the study must be described succinctly giving manufacturer’s name and address.

Results:

Results should be presented in the same chronological sequence as that described for the various experiments or investigations under the methods section above. Repetition in the text of all the data already presented in tables and/or illustrations must be avoided. Do not discuss the results in this section.

Discussion:

Discuss and stress new and crucial findings. Compare or relate your findings to previous observations, if any. Refrain from making unqualified statements not supported by your data or findings.

Conclusion:

In this section provide the main and crucial findings of the study in brief. It should not exceed seven sentences or do not exceed 80 words.

Reference Format:

The surname of the author(s) and year of publication should be used when citing previous studies in the manuscript.

1. Single author: Author’s surname without initials followed by year of publication.
2. Two authors: Both authors’ surnames without initials and year of publication
3. Three or more authors: First author’s surname without initials followed by “et al.” and then the year of publication.

Adhere to the examples given below.

(i) Vitrification was estimated to be cheaper than slow cooling (Ali, 1992).

(ii) Ali and Shelton performed an extensive and systematic investigation involving over 6,000 permutations and combinations of cryoprotectant solutions  to identify the least toxic and most efficacious vitrification solution that consisted of 5.5M ethylene glycol and 1M sucrose (Ali and Shelton,1993).

(iii) Ethylene glycol was reported to be least embryotoxic (Ali and Shelton,

1993).

(iii) The human embryo was successfully vitrified for the first time in 1995 with survival of all embryos and no loss of viability during subsequent development in vitro up to the blastocyst stage (Ali et al., 1995; Ali, 1996).

(iv) Previous reports (Ali, 1992; Ali and Shelton, 1993; Ali et al., 1993)…..

In this section acknowledge only those that have made significant contributions to your study. The nature of the acknowledged person’s contribution must me mentioned. Acknowledged persons must sign a letter indicating their acceptance to being mentioned in this section.

References:

Organize references in the Reference section in alphabetical order. All authors must be named.

Tables and Illustrations or Figures:

Each table should be submitted on a separate page and numbered using Arabic numerals consecutively in order of their appearance. Non-standard abbreviations used in tables and illustrations should be explained in footnotes. Figures shall also be numbered in Arabic numerals in the consecutive order of their appearance in the text.

Peer Review Protocol

The author(s) are informed reviewers chosen to review manuscripts shall be required to declare conflicts of interest. Authors may provide the names and email addresses of “4” to “5” reviewers that are qualified to review their manuscript so as to facilitate and expedite the peer review process.

ARTICLE PROCESSING / PUBLICATION CHARGE (APC)

There is no article processing charge (APC) for authors of low, middle income economies/countries and self-funded authors of high economies and advanced nations with effect from 15 October 2021 until further notice. It is now FREE to publish in the JRBBS. However authors including students that have access to institutional publication support or budget for publication are required to pay the APC. Please see chart below for details on the APC.
